Reed warbler

Reed warbler

During spring, reed warblers migrate from north to south. They build their hidden nests among cumbungi grasses. If the cumbungi is removed, these reed warblers may nest in other emergent wetland plants.

They eat the many insects and spiders that live and fly around the emergent wetland plants.

In spring, reed warblers mark their territories with loud, long choruses of song.
