The message of reduce, reuse and recycle is an important one for students to learn early. This will help them to develop good habits when it comes to disposing of any rubbish. Students also need to make the link between using paper and destroying the environment.

Learning Intentions
In this program students will:
- Make the link between our overuse of paper and deforestation
- Learn how to recycle paper
Activities
Students will:
- Discuss where paper comes from and how much paper is used in a day
- Make recycled paper
- Observe paper fibres under the microscope and discover that these fibres are from plants
