Overview

Get up close and personal with Ecolinc animals to explore the scientific concept of life cycles.

Students will identify the life cycle stages of a Spiny Leaf Insect and a Black Headed Python, and discuss how environmental factors affect the life cycles. This will be supported with live animals, videos and information.


Background Information

Different animals have different life cycles and environmental factors can affect these life cycles.

Year Level: 3-4

Duration: 1 hour

  • Discuss the habitat requirements and features of the leaf insect and black headed python
  • Sequence the life cycle of the leaf insect and black headed python
  • Discuss how environmental factors affect life cycles
