Girls+ in STEM

Ecolinc’s Girls+ in STEM program invites Year 5–6 students to step into the role of real-world problem solvers. Working within a scenario-based challenge, students explore an authentic environmental or sustainability issue and are encouraged to think critically and creatively about possible solutions. By immersing themselves in these scenarios, students gain a deeper understanding of how science, technology, engineering and mathematics can be applied to address issues that impact their world today and into the future.

The program is hands-on and multi-disciplinary, designed to develop essential STEM skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking. Through interactive activities and guided investigations, students not only learn about the issue at hand but also build the confidence to share and present their own innovative ideas. Girls+ in STEM empowers young learners to see themselves as active contributors to solving global challenges, nurturing curiosity and laying the foundations for future success in STEM pathways.

In 2026, the Girls+ in STEM program will be open to primary school girls and gender diverse students from schools local to the Bacchus Marsh area.  Schools can select up to 20 students to participate.  Date: Monday 31st August 2026, 9am – 3pm.

To book, please contact Ecolinc on ecolinc@education.vic.gov.au specifying your school and the number of students you would like to book for.
