Women in STEM
Ecolinc’s Women in STEM program is designed to inspire and empower young women in Years 9–10 to explore the exciting possibilities of future careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The program provides students with a unique opportunity to connect with women working across a diverse range of STEM fields, hear their stories, and gain insights into the pathways that lead to rewarding and impactful careers. By engaging with real role models, students are encouraged to see themselves as capable, confident and ready to take their place as future leaders in science and innovation.
The day begins with an engaging keynote presentation from a leading female STEM professional, followed by interactive workshops that challenge students to apply their skills and creativity to real-world problems. A highlight of the program is the careers speed dating session, where students rotate through small-group conversations with a variety of inspiring women in STEM industries. This format allows participants to ask questions, gain practical advice and broaden their understanding of the many opportunities available in STEM. The Women in STEM program not only builds knowledge and confidence but also fosters curiosity and ambition, supporting young women to imagine and pursue bright futures in science and innovation.
Ecolinc offers the Women in STEM program twice annually and in 2026, the dates are:
- Wednesday 10th June 2026
- Wednesday 21st October 2026
Schools (government and non-government, private and independent) are able to book up to 10 female and gender diverse students into the WIS events. The program is always hugely popular and books out very quickly, so if you would like to book, please contact Ecolinc on ecolinc@education.vic.gov.au specifying the number of students and the date you would prefer.
